Registered Nurses In-Patient and Community

Full/part time hours available
Salary: £25,250 -£32,387 depending on experience

We have a range of exciting opportunities for Registered Nurses to pursue a career in palliative care.  We offer a variety of challenging and rewarding nursing roles across our Hospice In-Patient Unit, Hospice Community Service and Telephone Support and Advice Line.

Join our team to support people’s preferences and priorities, and enable them to live as well as possible at home and in the Hospice.

Our team provide skilled hands-on nursing care, palliative care assessment, advice and compassionate support to ensure the holistic needs of people living with advanced illness are met right up until they die.

Enabling people to live with choice and dignity

By working in partnership with patients, their families, members of the Hospice interdisciplinary team and our community partners, our palliative care nurses play an essential role in optimising symptom control issues. They promote timely advance care planning, enabling people to live with choice and dignity, providing sensitive emotional support and being alongside patients and their families to provide compassionate end-of-life care.

Patients are at the centre of everything we do and, working within our clinical team, you will have time to care whilst supporting patients and their families in living life to the full.

If you are thinking about a career in palliative care nursing we are looking for nurses with an affinity for working with people, to build natural and trusted rapport with patients and families. You will have great communication skills; be able to openly and honestly support people with sensitive topics including loss, grief and dying; sound judgement and a real commitment to interdisciplinary team working.

Whilst palliative care experience is desirable it is not essential to join our Hospice team as a Registered Nurse. If you have a passion to work in palliative care and transferable nursing skills and experience, we have a specialist team of nurses and professionals to develop and support you. We are open to hearing from newly graduated nurses, nurses interested in part time or bank work and nurses with experience in other fields interested in a career change where they can make a real difference.

If you are particularly interested in supporting patients and families to remain at home in the community please also see our Telephone Support and Advice Clinician role.
