Telephone Support and Advice Clinician
Open to all registered practitioners.
Salary: £25,250 -£32,387 depending on experience
St Michael’s Hospice offers a 24/7 advice and support service to enable patients with advanced, life-limiting illness and their families to have access to specialist advice and support from qualified palliative care clinicians whenever they need it.
Having access to sound expertise at the end of the phone in those critical moments can make all the difference to assessing people’s holistic needs, mobilising timely support for patients and their families and enabling them to remain at home.
Our telephone support and advice line is provided by skilled, experienced nurses and clinicians able to respond to whatever might come up in a call. This could be support for complex symptom management, carer and family breakdown, emotional distress and anxiety, safeguarding concerns or end of life care. Our telephone advice and support team is there when patients and families need them and play a critical role in supporting their holistic needs and wellbeing around the clock, at home.
This challenging and rewarding role draws on excellent assessment and communication skills, empathetic listening, sound judgement, quick decision making and interdisciplinary team working come together to ensure people receive the timely support they need.
