St Michael’s Hospice Retail Company is responsible for the operation of the chain of St Michael’s Hospice charity shops and its Donation Centre. We have an exciting opportunity for a part Warehouse Operative. You will support the Warehouse Supervisor in organising and supervising the volunteers in sorting of donations and delivering stock to our shops and large items to our customers. An understanding of warehouse processes and Health & Safety are desirable as is experience of driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes as part of your duties will include providing cover for our Retail Assistants according to business needs.
You will work with a diverse range of colleagues so will need to have good communication and organisational skills in addition to demonstrating high levels of customer service to our donors, volunteers and staff. On occasion you may have to work on your own and therefore need a high level of self-motivation. You need to be flexible to cover holidays, sickness, changing business needs, there may be some evening and weekend work to support retail events for which you will receive time off in lieu.
