David and Madeleine welcome you to their large domestic garden. Delicious refreshments can be enjoyed at the three seating areas by the rose bed, BBQ and on the patio. The front garden is predominately a spring garden with rhododendrons, azaleas and camelias, whilst at the rear is a large walled garden which has mature shrubs, large mature trees and lawn, plus fruit and vegetables.

As current custodians of the garden of an 1870s house, the owners have eased themselves into that history of cultivation. It now comprises an informal cottage/woodland style upper garden with a goldfish pond and seating area, a utilitarian second tier where tasty things are grown, and a lightly managed dell
for wildlife at the bottom – which is shared with badgers, butterflies, birds and the occasional fox.

Situated opposite Cooden Beach Golf Club, a return visit to this lovely garden. The front garden is pretty,
bright and colourful, whilst the sheltered back garden features a swimming pool, paved patio area and large lawn. Lots of beautiful flowers feature in borders surrounding this garden.

The garden owners moved here 16 years ago and within 3 months completely stripped out the garden and laid it out as can be seen today. However, the planting is always changing, but there is normally around 200 different species. Latterly the owners are tending to group plants a little more and also exploring ways to cut down on maintenance. There are 6 water features, 6 areas for relaxing or eating, a summer house and a delightful flint wall which was the boundary to Collington Manor.

From Hastings travel along the A259 towards Bexhill on Sea, turn left onto the A269, follow the Open Garden signs.
