A fabulous live art trail coming to the streets of Hastings and Rother this summer in support of St Michael’s Hospice

Follow that Duck is a Wild in Art event brought to Hastings and Rother in support of St Michael’s Hospice, in collaboration with local businesses, artists and schools. For ten weeks this summer the streets, gardens and beaches of Hastings, St Leonards on Sea and Bexhill on Sea will be brought to life by a flock of fabulous 5ft rubber duck and 2ft rubber duckling sculptures.

Each large duck has been sponsored by a local business and all are hand decorated with individually created designs, a third of which by talented artists local to East Sussex. The rubber ducklings have been designed and decorated by local schools and community groups and will be nesting in special locations across the area.

Follow that Duck is a free, fun, family friendly live art trail, offering a colourful to reason to step outdoors and revel in our beautiful local surroundings, it is also an opportunity to take a moment to focus on personal wellbeing.

The Follow that Duck public art trail aims to raise funds and awareness for St Michael’s Hospice, which supports and enables the community of Hastings and Rother to live well with dying, death and loss. The cost of running the Hospice each year exceeds £6 million, two thirds of which is received through voluntary contributions and donations.

The ducks and ducklings will be found at their nesting sites from Friday 24th June until Sunday 4th September. At the end of the trail, the giant ducks will be auctioned to raise valuable funds for St Michael’s Hospice.

Albert, The Pride of Hastings is the first duck to have hatched and after touring around the local area, can now be found at his nesting site at St Michael’s Hospice.
