Golf Day success for the Hospice

Our charity golf day proved a huge success, raising over £1,500 for the Hospice.

43 golfers entered the first day of our St Michael’s Hospice Golf Series in Tenterden on Friday 8th October. Trophies were presented to Graham Nicholls and Georgina Penketh for the men and women’s longest drive, and Terry Saunters was awarded the trophy for nearest the pin.

The overall scores were incredibly close and the day concluded with a tie breaker for 1st place, with Glenn Woodhurst, Kraig Noble, Dave Booth and Jack Baker, walking away as the winning team and receiving the highest points on the Golf Series Leader Board, along with a free round of golf at Tenterden Golf Club.

James Beeching, Challenge Community Fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “Not only is this our first golf series but this was our first golf day that we have held in over a year, and we couldn’t have asked for more. All the players had such a good time, the course was beautiful and the weather was on our side. I am really thankful towards the players and Tenterden Golf Club for supporting us to raise vital funds for the Hospice.”
