Lottery and Retail Non-Executive Directors needed

We are currently looking to recruit Non-Executive Directors to our Lottery and Retails Boards.

“Joining the Boards is a great way to be involved with such a worthwhile cause and contribute towards its future success. You are also given an in-depth insight into how much goes on behind the scenes that enables the Hospice to provide the services it does within the local area. There are usually quarterly board meetings along with another three or four meetings per year which are planned well in advance so I am able to factor these in to my job and other commitments. Other than these set meetings the bulk of the roles is able to be carried out around these commitments as they can be carried out at a time of your choosing, for example visiting the shops, research or planning for the next scheduled meeting.

The most rewarding part of the role is working with the team to come up with a solution to a problem or how to improve something even more,” Sam Carter, Non-Executive Director.

Non-Executive Directors play a crucial role in the Hospice Lottery and Retail Companies having a clear strategic plan and are focused on achieving it, and are responsible for the performance of the Lottery and Retail Companies and for their corporate behaviour. Non-Executive Directors ensure the Companies comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, and act as guardians of the Companies assets, both tangible and intangible, taking all due care over their security, deployment and proper application.

Applications are invited from across Hastings and Rother and surrounding areas, whether you live, work or have connections locally. The Lottery and Retails Boards are keen to increase their diversity and therefore encourages and welcomes applications from young people, people with a disability, people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people from the LGBTQ+ community who could help and develop all areas of their work.
