Outstanding amount raised for St Michael’s Hospice

Tim Reeves began fundraising for the Hospice after his friend Barry Gurr died in 2010. Barry received support and care from their Hospice at Home team.

The annual Lingfield Race Day in memory Barry has become such a popular event with locals and in May 2022, Tim plans to run the event again for the 10th year, after the COVID-19 pandemic sadly halted the 2020/21 race days.

Tim said; “Over the past 9 years, I’ve raised £44,653.91 for the Hospice. I am thankful to the loyal supporters of the Race Day and new faces I welcome every year, and grateful to those who donate fantastic prizes to the raffles and silent auctions. I am hoping to get my total raised over £50,000 next year and welcome you to join me at my next DVD Race Night on Saturday 2nd October from 7pm at The Silverhill Club, St Leonards on Sea.”

Senior Community Events Fundraiser, Laura Sully, said; “We are incredibly grateful and proud of what Tim has achieved for the Hospice over the past 9 years. £44,653.91 is outstanding. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic stopping the physical annual race day in 2020 and 2021, which are always so much fun, Tim has continued to support the Hospice where he can by hosting fantastic DVD Race Nights for the local community and his family and friends to enjoy. We hope you can join him at his next event in October.”
