Follow that Duck

Follow that Duck

Shake your tailfeathers and follow that duck

From 24th June – 4th September 2022, Hastings and Rother will offer nesting sites for 30 large Rubber Duck sculptures and a host of smaller Rubber Ducklings, creating a live art trail from Hastings Old Town to Bexhill on Sea. This fun, free, family friendly event will create an art gallery of fabulous creativity and inspiration within our local communities.

Each large Rubber Duck sculpture will be sponsored by a business and individually designed and painted by an artist; some well-known and many of them local, from the fantastic art communities we have here, in and around Hastings.

Smaller Rubber Duckling sculptures will be designed and decorated by local schools, giving young people the chance to get creative and enhance their wellbeing. The ducklings will also join the trail and nestle into safe indoor locations.

Next summer, you can pick up a Follow that Duck trail map, or download the Follow that Duck App and wend your way along the coast – will you find all the Ducks and Ducklings?

How you can get involved with Follow that Duck

To bring this exciting project to life, St Michael’s Hospice needs support from businesses to sponsor our ducks, from artists to design and paint our ducks, and schools and community groups to design and decorate our ducklings.

Do you fit into one of the above categories? If so go and visit our main Follow that Duck website, to find out the full details of how you can get involved. Or contact one of the team by emailing us.

Our Rubber Ducks will take their places on the streets of Hastings and Rother in June 2022 – more information about their nesting sites will be available in due course. Please do keep popping back.
